What’s your word for the year?

Published by Tiffany Johnson on

Welcome to 2019! It’s been some time since I last posted, things have been happening in life. Now after a sunny summer break (yes, that is my two black dogs happily playing on the beach on the left-hand side – also having a break over the summer), it’s all systems go.

Dogs on the beach

I wanted to share with you something that I do at the beginning of each year. It’s fun and I find it an excellent start for where to focus my energy for the year ahead.

Every year, instead of announcing to the universe- my New Years Resolutions, I declare to the universe, my word.

I hold onto this word throughout the year, in all areas of my life. The last few years my words have been, Inspire, Abundance and Big, just to name a few. I like using a word instead of ‘resolutions’. A word seems to stick to me with much more ease. I can adapt it to all areas of my life, much more than a resolution, which jams me into a corner and there I have to stay. This way I can move the goal posts as I please.

What’s this year’s word you ask – one which I am very excited about, it is…

SUCCESS.

SUCCESS

Success in everything that I do.

Success with my relationships, filled with loving nurturing people, where we lift each other up and support each other through all aspects of this thing called life.

Success with my health, my body, my mind and my spirit, letting it beam with fantastic health.

Success with my work, fulfilling all my goals.

Success can mean anything for anyone. It doesn’t have to be about money, jobs or material things. Success to me is reaching goals, positively seeing the world and knowing that I can do and be anything that I put my mind to. I will be Successful.

The Australian Writers Centre this year also asked it’s members what their word for the year was. Hundreds, if not thousands of people wrote in and said what their word was, including me. And here it is – success again – my entry was mentioned in their blog.

I know that no matter what, this year will be filled with success for me.
